Padded or unpadded?
Slinglings pouch slings are now available both with and without leg padding in select fabrics.
What is the padding for?
The padding is made to go under an older baby's (6 months and up) legs, in the bend behind the knees, in any of the legs out positions--
the hip carry, tummy to tummy, and back carry.
What is the padding like?
There are 2 sections of padding, approximately 10" long x 1.5" wide, on either side of the curved seam of the sling. This is where an older baby's legs will go in the hip carry.
If a fabric is for sale on the website as an unpadded sling, can it be made in a padded version?
or vice versa?
You can always email and ask us, but usually, the answer is no. We do not custom make most of our
slings. Occasionally we may make a fabric available in both padded and unpadded slings,
but it is not usual. Once a fabric is hemmed for a padded or unpadded sling, it can not be changed.
Can a padded sling be used from birth?
Yes! Although the padding is there primarily for older babies, the padding does not interfere with
the sling's use with a newborn. You will generally wear the
padding on the outer rail when the baby's legs are inside the sling. The padding can be
used as a place to grip when positioning the baby, it helps hold the pouch fabric open more to prevent
draping across the baby's face, some babies like to chew on the padded rail, and the padding can help
act as a pillow under a newborn's head who wants to see out, but who doesn't have good neck control yet.
Can I use the "buy 2 get one free" offer with padded slings?
How does the "Buy 2 get one free" offer work if I want to buy both padded and unpadded slings?
Yes, the "buy 2 get one free" deal is good on padded slings. 33% is automatically deducted from the price of each sling
as soon as you put the 3rd sling in your shopping cart. You may buy any combination of padded and unpadded slings.
Will you continue to sell unpadded slings?
There are no immediate plans to stop selling unpadded slings. Many of our old customers have told us
that they like Slinglings brand slings because they are unpadded. Many pouch companies only offer padded slings, so we will continue to offer unpadded slings.
Why would I want an unpadded sling?
Unpadded slings are easier to fold, more compact and can fit in a smaller bag or pocket.
